LATAM Airlines has just launched a new direct route connecting Lima, Peru and Mendoza, Argentina—a huge boost for both tourism and business travel in the region.
Peru is a country in constant motion. With new alliances, projects, and an ever-growing list of tourist destinations accessible by air, the country is quickly positioning itself as a rising power in global tourism.
The growth of tourism in Peru is the result of collaboration between government, private enterprise, and social sectors—all working together toward development and modernization.
And nowhere is that spirit more visible than at Jorge Chávez International Airport, Peru’s primary hub. With cutting-edge technology, efficient operations, and global partnerships, the airport is constantly evolving to meet international demand.
One of the key players in this transformation is LATAM Airlines, a leading carrier known for its service, reliability, and dedication to connecting Peru with the world. Alongside local airlines like Peruvian Airlines, LC Perú, and Star Perú, LATAM continues to strengthen its presence in the country.
What to Expect from the New Route
LATAM Airlines plans to transport over 50,000 passengers between Lima and Mendoza with this new route. Flights will operate four times a week, using Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of up to 168 passengers.
Flight details:
Flight LA4567 departs Lima at 2:30 a.m. and arrives in Mendoza at 8:07 a.m.
Return flight LA4568 leaves Mendoza at 7:50 a.m., landing in Lima at 9:55 a.m.
“We want to keep connecting Peru to the world, just as we’ve done for the past 17 years. Our goal is to continue improving both domestic and international connectivity so our passengers can reach more destinations while enjoying the warmth, punctuality, and quality service they deserve,”
—said José Sabogal, Marketing and Sales Manager of LATAM Airlines Peru.
Why Mendoza?
Mendoza is synonymous with fine wine. It’s one of Argentina’s most celebrated wine capitals, offering visitors world-class vineyards nestled at the foot of Mount Aconcagua. In addition to its wine tourism, the region is also known for adventure sports like skiing, rafting, fishing, and golf.
With this new route, LATAM isn’t just expanding its network—it’s strategically connecting two powerhouse tourist destinations. And Peru is more than ready.
LATAM’s Deep Commitment to Peru
In just 2016 and part of 2017, the LATAM Group launched 19 new routes, 8 of which are operated directly from Lima by LATAM Airlines Peru. Nearly half of its regional growth is based out of Jorge Chávez Airport, clearly reflecting LATAM’s commitment to making Lima a major air travel hub in South America.
This strategic partnership between Peru and LATAM is a perfect match. Peru’s openness to tourism and LATAM’s drive to grow are fueling each other like fire and gasoline—both aiming to deliver world-class, reliable, and exciting travel experiences to a global audience.
